Salt Spray Resistant Agent R-506


Product Overview:


Salt Spray Resistant Agent R-506 is an efficient salt spray resistance agent. Its main component is an organic chelating compound. It enhances the long-term anti-corrosion performance of water-based coatings on iron materials, including cold-rolled steel, shot-blasted iron, malleable cast iron, welds, as well as stainless steel, aluminum alloys, and zinc alloys.

Water Solubility: Easily soluble in water


Application Fields:


R-506 is suitable for water-based acrylic latex, water-based acrylic-modified epoxy self-drying systems, water-based acrylic baking paint systems, and other water-based resin systems.


Main Characteristics:


Prevents long-term rusting of water-based coatings on iron substrates after drying.

Exhibits good long-term anti-corrosion performance, enhancing the coating's resistance to salt spray.

Easy to disperse and can be added at later stages, suitable for low film thickness (<25 micrometers).

Applicable to various substrates, including carbon steel, malleable cast iron, galvanized steel, cold-rolled steel, cast iron, as well as stainless steel, aluminum alloys, and zinc alloys.


Usage and Dosage:


It is recommended to add R-506 during the paint formulation stage. The specific dosage should be determined through experimentation.


Recommended dosage: 0.5-2.0% of the total coating amount

The product should be stored in a sealed environment in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated warehouse. It is recommended to store it at a temperature between 5°C and 35°C.
